Internal Investigations
As part of its representation of corporate clients in criminal matters, the firm frequently conducts internal investigations for such clients. These investigations, conducted under the umbrella of the attorney-client privilege, are designed to asses possible wrongdoing by company employees and, where appropriate, to recommend corrective actions and/or lay the groundwork for the company’s defense. Legal action in this area also includes preparation of immunity; witness preparation; litigation of pre-indictment civil complaints for the return of property seized by the Court or by the Public Prosecutor; and the conduct of pre-indictment negotiations with the Public Prosecutor not to prosecute, or alternatively, to settle the matter on the most favorable terms feasible to the client via a civil consent disposition or a criminal plea arrangement.
